“You can’t build a reputation on what you’re going to do”
Too many times in my life I waited for the perfect moment. And here I am staring down at 50 wondering why I didn’t achieve things by now. The ultimate answer is because I didn’t start them until now. And that is how I live my life now, I start today. I stop waiting for the perfect moment, that really doesn’t exist.
And this year has been a lot of “start today” type moments. Some planned, some not so planned. For example, one thing planned was to write the first draft of a fiction novel. Almost done actually. Also, leaving a job that was making me miserable, while not planned, I decided one day to stick with the “start today” mentality and made the decision to try something new. A lot of things new. Life coach. Agency marketing. Freelance writing – o.k., that isn’t new but at least be more aggressive.
And by following your passion and purpose, starting today is much easier of a step. And that is all it has to be, one step in that direction today. Tomorrow will be the second step and before you know it you will be leaps ahead of where you are today. Stop what you are doing and start today!
